Martha’s Assistant (link):
Allen speaking here… I’m glad that Martha is going to receive some more assistance with what she is doing, but I’m also excited with the prospect of including someone in our journey and in coming to know Martha better. Each of us has a personal journey interconnected with those around us and this assistant will likely experience authentic ups and downs with the family and Martha as we continue to learn. Please see the advertisement to better understand what we think might be the factors that will help make this a good fit regarding the past, present and future of our journey.
J&A Launch Team (link):
We are excited to bring on the first three launch team members in the near future. The team will eventually be 100 strong and will help launch the Center and the J&A 16 Solutions. If you feel this may be a part your willing to play or if you know of someone who may fit just right, send us a note.
Media Team (link):
We currently envision this to be a team of 3 with voice and screen talent, filmography and a bring it all online and presentable person. These will form the beginnings of what will eventually become the J&A Social Change Studio. They will help introduce the Center and take the first big step in social change by healing the generation gap through the Hearts To Children organization. But will help introduce each of the J&A 16 Solutions including the other 2 educational organizations that we are currently piloting. We will be hiring the voice and screen talent very soon. Abigail’s Oven:
Farmer’s Market Representatives (link):
Sharing the farmer’s market is like offering the closest link we have to being with our customers and being able to talk with them. At the market you get to meet with and experience the joy with them as they respond, often the next week, about the bread and how it worked for them and their loved ones. Its fast paced, it can be more than warm under that canopy, things can and will not go perfectly, but it is an adventure to remember. You will get to meet so many people from all walks of life see the advertisement to learn more.
Baking team member (link):
The baking team is a multifaceted team that learns to reach out to help each other as one phase of the sourdough baking process bumps into or overlaps another. Lifting, cutting, moving, shaping, bowling, scoring, measuring, resting, and more will happen as you “Earn While You Learn”. This is a team of 8+ the majority of which will be newly starting out in July and August 2021.
Mixing team (link):
The mixing team gets to kick the fermenting process off which involves temperature, timing, lifting, turning, remembering, prepping, measuring, and in a setting where you are close and can get to know and serve the other 2 of 3 mixers well. This is largely an evening position which can often work well complementing other obligations. This is rigorous but can be fulfilling.
Packaging team (link):
The packaging team gets to move there hand quickly, precisely and accurately. They are in pretty close proximity to each other and this is also an afternoon evening position which can dovetail well with other earlier obligations. We are now even more into the presentation phase of the bread and attention to detail is paramount. With the right mix of personalities this group can have a lot of fun.
Executive team (link):
As Martha and I continue to shift our focus and time to the J&A Center For Social Change and as the bakery grows, this team will be more and more needed. It will include a CEO, Head Baker and the Marketing and Sales Executive. Their pay will grow as the bakery sales grow which has fortunately grown at about 35% each year. The team will likely see the business go from 3-4k loaves per week to about 12k loaves per week in a fairly short period of time. Abigail’s Oven will then commence two of three of the business phases.
