Catalysts of Social Change
We are at a unique intersection created by the aftermath of the Industrial Revolution, rapid technological advancement, and widespread use of the internet and digital communication. We are the product of all of society’s advances, discoveries, and mistakes. Participating in social change now will require different methods and catalysts than in any other era.
At the Center, we are aware that social change for individuals, families, and communities will be difficult. To assist in the process, we will be utilizing social change catalysts to make the process of change more natural and lasting.
What is a social change catalyst?
Oxford Dictionary:
catalyst
noun
1. Chemistry. a substance that increases the rate of a chemical reaction without itself undergoing any permanent chemical change.
In the context of Oxford Dictionary’s definition above, a social change catalyst is something that makes social change possible where it would be difficult or impossible ordinarily. Considering the challenges facing society today, an efficient method of effecting social change needs to be developed. With that goal in mind, J&A will be founding organizations that will lead out on three main social change catalysts:
If we can optimize how often and how well we communicate with and engage our personal-relations, we will enable lasting societal change.
3D Learning is the organization with stewardship over the application of this catalyst primarily applying it in educational settings, allowing learning to be connected to and supported by a network of personal relationships. Learn more
We often learn best through experience.
The Simulation Center has the stewardship over this catalyst and provides tools allowing people to work through problems and make decisions via role-playing experiences.. Learn more
There is massive power in visual media, much of which is misdirected.
At the Social Change Studio, social entrepreneurs can record content that will facilities real social change by using the innovative principles and tools of personal, family, and neighborhood engagement.
The Studio will have the stewardship for the development of this catalyst and its application among J&A subsidiary organizations and in consulting others. Learn more
Under the Center For Social Change umbrella, three organizations will be founded to take responsibility each for a single catalyst and will together integrate the catalysts into each Center solutions for social change.
While there will be a focus on three main catalysts, numerous others we call sub-catalysts, will also be leveraged a sample set listed below.
We will soon provide a write-up for each of the named sub-catalysts below. For now we hope you can benefit from the list. You can also join the live-stream forums to ask questions and learn more.

Here are some triads often used: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pF1kzL5S3DfD_iVIHQR6vy2TncZTsUVEiWtDouISMM4/edit?usp=sharing
- Capacity for change
- Everyone has a mother. How does that apply to solving corruption in big business, when they are close to and therefore in the consideration of their mother. They want to operate way above the mother line. In the past our mothers were disconnected from what we do. With our shift toward better and integrated personal relations, this influence will have greater affect. A way to simplify, wouldn’t society be better if our mothers had influence over our actions, wouldn’t our world be less corrupt. After it was so prevalent, oh that’s the way it is, mom part of my life, part of school and decisions and now as an executive. But before it didn’t work because of how information was managed and the scope of institutions. The new system works differently because of the family-based community, corruption is gone.
